From Kristine Lockwood the Krafty Lady:
I love a great book. Like most people who have used a book to alter into an art form I was very hesitant to disfigure a book. I had been brought up to respect books and had been an avid reader all my life. I once sat next to my buddy Dee Gruenig at a Designs Original class run by Beth Cote. Dee just couldn't do the first task - "tear out a page". I remembered my hesitation only months before
& so I grabbed Dee's book & I tore out that first page - we both drew in our breath
& then laughed. The class went ahead & both Dee & I got a great result. Ever since I had altered quite a few books
& I am always surfing the net to view other's creations. An Altered Board Book was to be the first project for the newly formed KRAFTY LADY DESIGN TEAM. I supplied them with board books with the coloured papers removed. My own book was actually 2 books that I fully pulled apart. Some books had apertures
& others didn't. Anyway enough from me - enjoy.
