A Paper Garden; straight Kato Translucent clay, and some KTC mixed with a drop

Abstract
using
AM078 Med Conch Shell
AMKT7 X4Lge Floral Texture
Using a mix
of gold, chocolate, and chocolate/gold Sculpey III, which I rolled, then folded,
and rolled again until I got this texture. I put the last fat snake through the
pasta machine.
I then cut a piece of the flat sheet of clay and pressed into it AMKT7 Floral
Texture, I used a piece to cast the conch shell and back-filled it with scrap
clay. The idea for this pendant was inspired by an article in a Designs Original
booklet. |

also used Sculpey Ultralight and some green Premo to add colour to the
Ultralight. I baked it as per Ultralight directions. I used a headpin to pierce
the holes in the leaves, and draped them over alfoil rolled in a small tube
(about the size of a pencil) to give them some curve. I took care to sand the
sides and back when the leaves were cured so they would be smoother.

AMKT13 X4Lge Heart Texture
Texture Paste (Jo Sonja) was spread onto the texture sheet, when it was dried it
was adhered to the tin with strong glue (E6000). It was then painted with Jo
Sonja Aqua acrylic paint, and then Rich Gold paint, which was rubbed off before
it completely dried. The Pomone medallion was cast with a blend of Sculpey III
Polymer Clay, which was rubbed with Sparkle Copper (Pearl Ex) prior to baking,
to enhance the design.
Both the tin and Pomone were given a wash of Sparkle Copper mixed with Gum
Arabic to add a bit of sparkle. German Scraps were adhered to the top and bottom
of the tin to finish it off. The back and top of the lid had random applications
of Texture Paste. You could also use a texture sheet and do as I've done for the
front and sides. |
