moss, Solvy (available from Spotlight in Australia), spray adhesive, Encore!
Ultimate Metallics gold inkpad, Perfect Pearls, assorted beads, micro beads.
To create the fabric, tear a variety of handmade papers into thin, irregular
strips. Assemble them onto a piece of paper on your workspace placing the more
solid pieces on the bottom layer, with the more transparent pieces on top,
leaving open spaces amongst the papers. Cut short lengths of coordinating fibres
and threads and layer these on the papers. Next, add some green moss lengths
amongst the fibres. Cut 2 pieces of Solvy to the required size and spray with
adhesive. Place the first piece on top of the “fabric” and press down onto the
fabric. Turn the whole piece over and remove the paper you were working on.
Place the second piece of Solvy on top and press into place. Quilt the piece
together with matching thread and a long machine stitch in the desired pattern.
I've used a grid pattern in this piece. Trim away all excess threads and place
in a bath of warm water. Gently rub away the Solvy until only the fabric remains
and allow to dry.
