SOYSILK® Fusion

Sewing Kit
using
AMMT Set XXLge Mini Torso Set (front only)
AM330 X5Lge 8 Up
Also used Black Hearty air dry clay (mannequins), Sculpey Ultra Light Oven Bake
Clay (buttons), SOYSILK® Fusion from Conjoined Creations, rhinestone strips from Hero
Arts, Lumiere acrylic paints, Krylon gold leafing pen, Making Memories metal
letters, pink fibre, assorted beads, buttons and charms.
The base of my sewing kit is an airline comfort pack which opens up flat and has
zippered pockets inside. I prepared the SOYSILK® Fusion according to the
manufacturer's instructions allowing plenty of open space so that the black kit
would show through adding more visual interest. Once dried, I removed it from
the freezer paper and painted the same solution of Jo Sonja Textile Medium on
the back of the fabric and applied it to the black pack.

To create the mannequins' clothes, I picked a contrasting colour and wrapped it
around the front and back of the torso casts, dabbing the textile medium
solution over the top of the fibres with a paintbrush. I worked with small
lengths at a time and built up the layers allowing some of the black clay to
show through. Each mannequin is wrapped differently to create 3 different
garments and then trimmed with the rhinestone strip to emphasize the garments'
necklines.

Needle Case
using
AM098 Rectangular Frame
Also used Sculpey Ultra Light Oven Bake Clay, Lumiere paint, gold card, acetate
and pack of needles. |
Thimble, Needle Threader and Unpicker
using
AMKT2 X4Lge Leaf Texture
AM228 Med 6 Petals
Also used black Sculpey III, Perfect Pearls Pewter and Pearl Ex Interference
Gold, needle threader, metal thimble and unpicker.
To help the polymer clay stick to the metal, I applied a thin layer of PVA to
the thimble and allowed it to dry before covering it. This wasn¢t necessary with
the needle threader or the unpicker as both are completely encased in polymer
clay. |
Chatelaine
using
AM294 XXLge Rose Cameo
Also used Sculpey Ultra Light Oven Bake Clay, Lumiere paints, assorted silver
findings, assorted beads and pearls and embroidery scissors. |
