The background is velvet paper done using the "stamping on velvet" technique
involving ironing. The bust and frame were painted with Verdigris Chatsworth
paint and patina. The partial torso was cast with Delight Air Dry Modelling
Compound.

I did a mix of Opals and hotglue to get the swirled pattern and the lacey edge.
Mostly Opals with just a small amount of hot glue pellets.

Beeswax was used to pour the moulds, and it was colored with a tiny bit of the
encaustic wax. Encaustic waxes have a lot of pitment, and a very intense colour,
so a little goes a long way.
The casts were finished with metallic buffing waxes and/or Pearl Ex to bring out
the detail. |

Both pieces of this mould were secured with elastic bands. Magic Meltz was
poured in the opening, and left to set. When the MM was cooled, the cast was
ready to be wrapped with some gold wire.

and baked over a lightbulb to get a nice round shape. The two moulds were formed
and joined into a full "person", then cut down the middle to give the side

Studio Clay was used for the skinner blend, Kato Polyclay for the body and Premo for the black background. Arms legs and a head were added to the Mini baroque Beauty, then she was dressed in a nice little black bikini.

Dragonfly Wings Set
Old Premo clay that has been leached and is a little dry was used for the body, translucent Premo with a few drops of Jacquard Lime Green alcohol ink was used for the wings and clothing. The "clothing" is the hair from the Face Rays mould cut out and flipped upside down. After curing the entire project was tooth brushed with burnt umber oil paint, wiped off and allowed to dry.
